Biography

Meaghan was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. At two years old, she moved, and was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended Oak Park High School in Winnipeg and was an architecture student at the University of Manitoba before appearing on Canada's Next Top Model[1] Meaghan has a septum piercing[2] and collarbone piercings.[3] She has also worked at American Apparel and currently works at Swank Boutique. Now she works with the Nygard fashion .

Top Model

Meaghan got scouted when she was working retail in Winnipeg.[4] A model agent came in and asked to meet up. At first, she said "no" but she called back and Meaghan finally went in for some pictures and they sent them to Top Model. Because they held no Canada's Next Top Model auditions in Winnipeg, she boarded an early morning flight in order to attend auditions in Toronto. While standing in line with her mom, she was asked to skip line by Olsen’s assistant Richard Campbell.“There were so many girls and Meaghan just stood out. She’s an agent’s dream girl. She’s blonde, she’s fresh-looking, she’s got the right body for the industry … You could tell a mile away. She looks like a model,” said Olsen. "I was just praying she (would make) the cut to be one of the girls in the show.”

Meaghan was the only model/contestant in this cycle that had no model experience when entering the show. Meaghan was the shy girl on the show because of her braces (later in the show she got her braces replaced with Invisalign), and the judges wanted to break that shell she had on. She started off pretty well and improved a lot like having photo of the week in episode 5.

CoverGirl photoshoot came in episode 7 and everyone thought that Meaghan would nail it because she looks like a Covergirl. Meaghan had a hard time translating the photo and was very emotional which landed her in the bottom two. In the end Meaghan was told she needed to find a way to get over her confidence issue, while Maryam was eliminated.

For the finale photoshoot, the editor of FASHION magazine wanted each of the model to wear a strapless yellow Versace dress but it was too tight for any of the models except Meaghan to fit. In the finale, the judges feared that her vulnerable attitude would break her down, but it's her charm and simple personality that made them love her. They loved her current look in fashion and her timeless and effortless beauty. After a long deliberation she was crowned Canada's Next Top Model and defeated fellow competitor Linsay Willier.

Honestly, every emotion is like pouring through my veins right now. I want to travel, I want to do as many photoshoots around the world as possible, I wanna make this all happen. Its official, Meaghan Waller is a model! — Meaghan Waller

When Top Model was finished taping, she was sworn to secrecy and she went back to work retail at Swank Boutique. “My mom and dad had no clue, which was really hard because me and my mom are pretty close,” says Meaghan.

Modeling career

Meaghan is now signed with Swish Model Management in Winnipeg,[5] Storm Model Management in London,[6] NEXT Model Management in Toronto[7], ESEE Model Management in China and DNA Model Management[8] in New York City. It had been reported that she began to work internationally only a week after announcing her win on Top Model.[9] In late 2009, Meaghan began modelling in China. She returned to Canada in the spring of 2010.

She has graced the cover of FASHION Magazine[10] twice, one with fellow contestants of Canada's Next Top Model, and another one by herself as part of her prize. She also has done an ad for CoverGirl Exact Eyelights[11] which came out in August 2009, and a campaign ad for Capezio Shoes.[12] Meaghan has also gotten a cover and editorial for the January 2010 issue of Clin D'oeil Magazine as well as the March 2010 issue of Sandbox Magazine. Meaghan has also had editorials in Cheek Magazine, Elegance Magazine, and numerous Chinese fashion magazines such as Marie Claire. She was also a model in the Spring/Summer 2010 advertisements for Nygard.[13]

She walked a fashion show for designers The Blonds for the final episode of the show, and walked the runway at This is London as part of Elmer Olsen's Bootcamp.[14] Meaghan has since walked for Osman[15] and Felder Felder[16] at London Fashion Week. She has also walked for Greta Constantine S/S 2010 collection at LG Fashion Week.
